PDO THREADS

Mono threads improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating collagen and elastin production within the skin over time.

PDO THREADS
BIO-STIMULATORS

PDO (Polydioxanone) mono threads are a type of absorbable thread used in aesthetic medicine for skin rejuvenation and tightening. PDO mono threads are smooth threads that are primarily designed to stimulate collagen production and improve skin texture.

PDO threads are a minimally invasive, and no-downtime alternative to non-surgical facelifts. PDO threads are made from an absorbable polymer, which is smooth, flexible, and durable. When inserted into the sub-dermis, the PDO threads promote new collagen and become a support structure. Mono threads improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by gradually stimulating collagen and elastin production within the skin over time.

During a PDO mono thread treatment, fine, single-stranded threads are inserted into the skin using a thin, sterile needle or cannula. These threads are typically placed just beneath the skin’s surface. Once inserted, they create micro-injuries, which trigger the body’s natural healing response and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin therefore producing skin tightening, gradual skin thickening, and rejuvenation. Over time, the PDO threads are absorbed by the body.  At approximately 3 months, the threads begin to dissolve. The collagen stimulation continues for up to 12 months after treatment, providing you with long-lasting effects.

Treatment results are seen in 8-12 weeks and last up to 12 months. As the threads dissolve over time, they stimulate collagen and elastin production to achieve an anti-aging effect.

Areas that can be treated include the forehead, eyebrows, brow lift, tear trough under-eye area, upper and lower cheeks, nasolabial folds, perioral lines, smoker’s lines, jowls, marionette lines, jawline, neck, decolletage, arms, abdomen, buttocks, and legs.

While infection is rare, there is a small risk of infection at the insertion points.

At Celluderm Skin Aesthetics we ensure that the procedure is performed in a sterile environment by a qualified healthcare professional to minimize this risk.

Before undergoing a PDO mono thread treatment, we provide a consultation with our medical professional who specializes in aesthetic medicine to determine if the procedure is suitable for your specific skin concerns and to discuss the potential risks benefits and aftercare.

The cost of a treatment varies depending upon the type and number of threads to be used. You will be given a quote at your initial appointment with our registered nurse.
