RF Micro Gold Needling
The gold radio frequency (RF) microcrystal is the ingenious combination of micro crystal and RF. The two word of “gold” originates from the microcrystalline gold coating.
Micro-needling (also known as collagen induction therapy) is a minimally invasive treatment that has been used for decades to rejuvenate the skin.
A device with fine needles or pins creates tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin. Results can include improved texture and firmness, as well as skin resurfacing.
RF micro-needling adds the element of radiofrequency energy to the traditional micro-needling procedure. The RF energy is delivered via small needles into the dermis.
In addition to the benefits seen with the micro-injury provided by the traditional microneedles, RF micro-needling also delivers RF energy deep into the dermis further enhancing skin tightening and scar reduction.

By using micro-needles to deliver the RF energy into the skin, there is effective skin remodelling with new collagen and elastin formation.
The treatment initiates the skin’s natural healing process through the micro-channels formed from the needles. This further rejuvenates the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, scarring, and pores, whilst also treating active acne and tightening the skin.
Following the treatment, there should only be minimal discomfort or pain. There will be redness for up to 48 hours, or possibly longer (this is dependent on the intensity of the treatment).
You can expect the skin to feel warm and flushed with swelling to different degrees. As most of the energy is delivered deep into the dermis, there is minimal downtime, and many can continue with their normal activities.
Full aftercare instructions will be provided after the treatment and strict adherence to these is essential to minimise discomfort and to ensure optimal results and healing
Delivered RF energy is tightly focused at the edge/tip of the Micro-Needles, leading to far less trauma to the sur-rounding epidermis. This leads to far less down time and pain for the patient as compared to a conventional CO2 fractional laser.

Please avoid the following activities for up to 2 days following a microneedling clinical procedure:
- Direct ultra violet exposure (sun and sunbeds)
- Intensive cardio, exercise or gym regimens
- Excessively hot showers, bathing, spas or sauna
- Swimming in chlorinated pools or the ocean
- Tattooing (including cosmetic tattooing)
- Further clinical treatments (including, but not limited to): microdermabrasion, laser, intense pulsed light, chemical peels, muscle relaxant injections and dermal fillers) should be avoided for up to two weeks.
Please avoid the use of skin care products containing any of the following active resurfacing ingredients for up to 5 days following a microneedling clinical procedure:
- Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) (including but not limited to) glycolic, lactic or malic acid
- Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) including salicylic acid
- Benzoyl peroxide
- Retinoids (including but not limited to) tretinoin, retinol and retinaldehyde
- Hydroquinone
- High levels of Kojic or azelaic acid
- Alcohol (including but not limited to) isopropyl alcohol/de-natured alcohol/rubbing alcohol
Do not apply spray tans or fake tan creams for 2-3 weeks after the treatment
If in doubt with any of the above activities or products, please contact us for clarification to when normal activity or use may be resumed.
For the first 1-3 days the skin may feel tight and dry.
Frequent use of post session topical will help with this.
Light, non-occlusive and non-comedogenic make-up may be applied 24 hours post-procedure and a SPF is advised for at least 3 days after your treatment.
After 2-3 days you can return to your regular skin care products with the exclusion of the products listed above
Low does Vitamin A products are recommended
Avoid direct sunlight and always wear SPF30 or above. Do not apply a chemical sunscreen the same day as the treatment, only approved physical defence sunscreen can be used.
Microneedling serves to stimulate collagen, and the skin can benefit from higher amounts of collagen then normal to have optimal results.
Collagen stimulating peptides assist in this process.
It’s important to hydrate before and after the procedure to help skin heal and rejuvenate faster.
Gently exfoliate the skin after 3-5 days to remove flaky skin that can form after the treatment.
